A Warhammer 40,000 Narrative Campaign Weekend
INQUISITORIAL MANDATE — OPEN CHANNEL BROADCAST
CLASSIFICATION: VERMILLION-NULL / ALL RECIPIENTS
TRANSMISSION ORIGIN: REDACTED
ORDO: REDACTED
By the authority vested in the Holy Ordos of the Emperor’s Most Sacred Inquisition, and broadcast on open channel by necessity rather than choice, this mandate is issued to all Imperial forces currently within deployment range of the Armageddon System. You will read it. You will understand it. You will act.
Operation Imperator is sanctioned. The reclamation of Armageddon is not a matter for debate, it is a matter of execution. Every loyal servant of the Throne operating in this theatre is hereby ordered to prosecute that goal with total commitment. The world must be held. Its people, what remains of them, must be preserved. The enemies of the Imperium must be driven from its soil or destroyed upon it. There is no other acceptable outcome.
You will coordinate. You will hold the line. You will not falter.
This transmission is broadcast openly. The Inquisition is not unaware that hostile forces will intercept it. To those forces, the warmongers who would see Armageddon reduced to ash, the opportunists who circle this system like carrion, pursuing agendas of their own devising, know this: you are seen. You are catalogued. Whatever you seek here, whatever purpose drives you to this world, you will find the full weight of Imperial resolve arrayed against you. Armageddon has endured before. It will endure again.
The Emperor Protects. His patience, however, does not extend to those who test it.
INQUISITORIAL SEAL APPLIED. FURTHER IDENTIFICATION WITHHELD BY ORDER OF THE ORDO. THIS TRANSMISSION IS ONE-WAY.

Campaign Introduction
Armageddon has always been a world defined by war. Once it has faced extinction at the hands of Chaos. Twice it nearly broke beneath the weight of the greatest Ork WAAAGH! in living memory. Each time, the world endured scarred, diminished, but defiant.
It will not endure passively this time.
Operation Imperator has been sanctioned. The Imperium moves to reclaim Armageddon in force, but the system is already contested. Ork warband leaders, emboldened by the echoes of Ghazghkull’s legacy, press deep into the hive cities and ash wastes. Chaos forces, drawn not by unified purpose but by the promise of slaughter and the whispers of dark gods, harry both flanks. And between and beneath them all move other powers, renegades, xenos warlords, opportunists of every kind, each pursuing ends that have nothing to do with the fate of the planet itself.
You are the commander of one such force, and your warhost now moves into the Armageddon System. Alliances have been forged; some from conviction, some from convenience, and some from the simple mathematics of survival. For now, those alliances hold.
Three alliances contest the fate of Armageddon:
THE LIBERATORS
Reclaim Armageddon. Destroy the occupying forces. Restore Imperial rule to a world that has bled for the Throne too many times to be abandoned now. Expected forces: Imperium and allies.
THE OPPRESSORS
Burn it. Raze the hive cities. Slaughter the population. Let Armageddon serve as a monument to destruction and nothing more. Expected forces: Ork warbands and Chaos forces bent on annihilation.
THE RAIDERS
Armageddon’s ruin is an opportunity. While the great powers grind against one another, the Raiders pursue their own ends — glory, resources, power, or agendas known only to themselves. Expected forces: Xenos warlords, Chaos renegades, and those who answer to no banner but their own.
Choose your allegiance. Prepare your forces. The fate of Armageddon will be decided on the battlefield — and the Spoils of War belong to those bold enough to claim them.
The Armageddon Campaign
Spoils of war uses the Warhammer 11th edition Core Rules, the chapter approved secondary mission cards, the Dominatus event system and cards (players are not required to own these, but it may help).
An overview of elements that make up the Dominatus event system is provided here, full details are available in card deck and will be made available to players on the day who do not have their own copy.
An Armageddon campaign is split into thee phases. Phases 1 and 2 each consist of two battle rounds which phase 3 is a single climactic game.
During each phase, the players will vie for control of strategic locations. Taking control of locations is vital to achieving victory, but is only part of the challenge. Each player must also attempt to complete agendas.
Only commanders who can achieve military success, whilst also completing this narrative goals will achieve everlasting glory on Armageddon.
Dominatus Cards
The Dominatus pack is made up of the following main elements:
Briefing Cards
These cards, unique to each alliance and round, describe the current narrative and show which Agendas you can attempt during your games based on your Force Disposition and that of your opponent. The reverse of the card narrates the outcome of the round based on how many Narrative Points you have scored.
Location Cards
These represent strategically important zones on the planet Armageddon and are represented by a specific game table and terrain layout. #Each location features a bonus, if an alliance takes control of that location all players in the alliance gain its location bonus for the remainder of the campaign.
Agenda Cards
Agendas represent the goals that you can attempt to achieve during each battlee. One side of the card has a narrative description of the goal and a list of conditions that if met award Agenda Achieved Cards, On the reverse is a Primary Mission which tells you how to gain VP
When a player earns and agenda achieved card they take one corresponding to their alliance, these cards have no effect until the end of a campaign phase. A player can not have more than 3 agenda achieved cards at a time.
Upgrade Cards
Upgrade cards are acquired as the campaign progresses. They represent special abilities that can improve the power of your units and come in three types:
- Battle Skill Cards. Earned at the end of a battle.
- Battle Honour Cards. Earned at the end of a battle by the victor.
- Relic Cars: Earned by gaining Agenda Achieved Cards.
End of each Campaign Phase
At the end of each campaign phase the alliance with the most battle honour cards gained during this phase will take control of the Location and gain its bonus.
The alliance with the most Agenda Achieved Cards will gain Ascendancy, which affects the narrative outcome of each phase, and each player will draw relics equal to the number of agenda achieved cards and choose one to keep. All Agenda Achieved cards are then discarded.

Army Composition
Forgeworld units are permitted (encouraged) where up to date rules exist within a codex, compendium, index or other valid publication.
Legends units are permitted, but you should email the club with what you plan to field ahead of time so we can talk over if there are any points, rules or other issues with the older data slates that need any amendments or general agreements on interpretation ahead of time.
Army Modelling and Painting Requirements
All players should attempt to have their forces painted to a Battle Ready standard. Those that are not considered fully Battle Ready will not gain the 10 Victory Points for it at the beginning of the battle.
Key considerations FOR CONVERSIONS AND PROXY MODELS are:
- Conversions should be of an appropriate size for the rules used (i.e. not using a Rhino chassis for a Land Raider)
- Base size should be those detailed in the Base Size Guide found in the latest Chapter Approved Tournament Companion
- Weapons modelled should be consistent in appearance (i.e. all lascannons should look the same) across the army.
If in any doubt or if your army is highly converted, and to avoid any potential issues at the time of the event, please email the club with any questions and pictures of examples ahead of the event, so the event organiser can provide a ruling .
We intend to grant the following player voted awards this year, all supported by our distinctive Vanguard Bear trophies:
Best Army: Liberators Champion: Liberators
Best Army: Oppressors Champion: Oppressors
Best Army: Raiders Champion: Raiders
The Best army award is a player vote on the best looking army in each alliance.
The Champion award is for the player on each team who brough the most enjoyment to the event for others. Each player will vote for one person from each alliance, including their own, on the basis of being a sporting opponent, enjoyment brough through engagement with narrative, being a stalwart team mate or any other reason they improved your weekend.
Minor awards in the form of Campaign Medals will also be handed out on the day for completing Campaign Objectives. More information on these will be made available each round.
Sportsmanship Policy
Thankfully we’ve never had issues at our events but any harassment, bullying, poor sportsmanship or unpleasant behaviour will not be tolerated. We hope that any issues would be resolved between players at the table but if you feel uncomfortable or unable to resolve issues, please inform a TO as soon as possible.
The TO will usually provide a warning and guidance on what needs changing. If this warning is not heeded, or in cases of serious deviations from expected standards of behaviour, the TO may force a player to withdraw from the event and venue. Such decisions are at the TO’s complete discretion and are final on the day
